Batterson's relationship with the road began in the early 1930's when C.K. Batterson started Batterson Distributing Company to manufacture and distribute vulcanized tires. He offered recapped tires as an affordable alternative to Houstonians in response to rationing of rubber during WWII.
When the war ended, C.K. saw an opportunity to help make Texas roads safer by manufacturing and distributing raised pavement markers and Batterson, as it is known today was born.
When C.K. passed, his son Thomas Charles Batterson took over the reins and grew the business by entering the parking lot striping business. Batterson's early projects included Houston's old Colt Stadium, the Astrodome and all major shopping malls built during that time.
Today, under the leadership of Mike Batterson, Stace Batterson and Todd Drouin, the Batterson family has taken the Company to a new level of pavement marking and traffic control services for Texas' State, county and local highways. Batterson continues its long history of keeping drivers safer by delivering dependable, quality service and meeting the exacting road construction requirements of Texas.
